What's News

  • 73 Strings acquired Paris-based Callisto, which works with European PE and private credit firms representing over $200 billion in AUM.
  • Callisto founders Charles Farhat and William Profit become co-heads of AI Product, reporting to CPO Matt Storey.
  • The deal follows 73 Strings' $55 million Series B in 2025, led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives' Growth Equity, with Blackstone, Golub Capital, Hamilton Lane, Broadhaven Ventures and 7RIDGE participating.

73 Strings, an AI-powered valuation and portfolio intelligence provider, has acquired Paris-based Callisto, buying automation technology that spans due diligence, data room analysis and investment documentation for private markets.

Callisto's client base includes European private equity and private credit firms representing more than $200 billion in assets under management. The company builds structured environments where AI agents can work with complex Excel files, data rooms, due diligence questionnaires and proprietary internal databases, letting general partners automate and scale parts of their investment processes.

Callisto's team of AI engineers will join the 73 Strings product organization. Founders Charles Farhat and William Profit become co-heads of AI Product and will report to Chief Product Officer Matt Storey.

The founders bring heavyweight technical pedigrees. Profit previously worked at Bloomberg, where he scaled FX systems handling trillions of dollars in transaction volume, and at Motive Partners in private credit technology. Farhat has a background in applied mathematics and nuclear engineering, plus experience in AI and next-generation robotics for defense applications.

73 Strings will integrate Callisto's core AI infrastructure into its 73 Intelligence platform in the coming months. The Callisto team will first add simulation capabilities, allowing clients to model how portfolios, valuations and fund-level outcomes respond to changes in macroeconomic and market assumptions.

"We founded Callisto on a simple conviction: asset managers can only unlock the full value of AI once their data lives in a structured, single source of truth," Profit and Farhat said in a joint statement. "That digital layer is what makes AI-native products and agents possible, and it's what will allow asset managers to scale as private markets open up to retail investors."

The acquisition fits a broader push by 73 Strings to scale its technology and operations as demand grows across private markets. The firm serves clients representing $20 trillion in AUM, including nine of the 10 largest private capital firms. Its client roster includes Bridgepoint, Wendel Group and Investec. The platform provides valuation and portfolio management infrastructure across private equity, private credit, infrastructure and venture capital.

73 Strings has also expanded geographically over the past year. The firm opened an Abu Dhabi office in November 2025, followed by a San Francisco office in December and its first Asia-Pacific office in Singapore in March.

The Callisto deal follows 73 Strings' $55 million Series B funding round in 2025, led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, with continued investment from Blackstone Innovations Investments and participation from Golub Capital, Hamilton Lane, Broadhaven Ventures and 7RIDGE. HSBC Innovation Banking also supports the company. That financing came after a €9.1 million Series A in July 2023, led by Blackstone Innovations Investments and Fidelity International Strategic Ventures, with participation from Broadhaven Ventures.

With Callisto's simulation tools added to 73 Intelligence, 73 Strings is positioning its platform for a private markets industry preparing to absorb retail capital at scale.
