Canopy Growth Lands UK Supply Deal for Four Medical Cannabis Strains

Canopy Growth Corporation (NASDAQ:CGC) has signed a supply agreement with GROW Group U.K. Ltd. to bring four Canadian-grown medical cannabis flower strains to the United Kingdom. The deal marks the first time these products will reach UK patients.

The strains will be sold under Canopy Growth's Spectrum Therapeutics medical brand. GROW Group U.K., which manufactures and distributes prescribed cannabis-based medicines across Europe, will handle distribution through its UK operations.

Canopy Growth did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement. The company also did not provide a specific date for when the products will become commercially available in the UK.

A deliberate push into Europe

The company said the arrangement forms part of its broader effort to expand its European medical cannabis business and extend the international footprint of its Canadian-grown products. The UK now joins a distribution strategy aimed squarely at European markets.

Luc Mongeau, Chief Executive Officer of Canopy Growth, framed the deal as part of that international buildout.

"Expanding availability of our products into the UK is another step in growing our European medical cannabis business and broadening the international reach of our Canadian-grown flower," Mongeau said.

EU certification underpins the export pipeline

The UK agreement follows the renewal of European Union Good Manufacturing Practice (EU GMP) certification at Canopy Growth's cultivation facility in Kincardine, Ontario. According to the company, that certification supports its ability to supply medical cannabis products to European markets.

The renewal matters because EU GMP compliance is a precondition for Canadian producers seeking to export flower into regulated European supply chains. Without it, the Kincardine facility could not serve as an export base for deals of this kind.

Taken together, the certification renewal and the GROW Group distribution agreement anchor the next phase of Canopy Growth's international medical cannabis operations. The UK launch extends the reach of the Spectrum Therapeutics portfolio into one of Europe's fastest-growing prescribed cannabis markets.

What remains unclear is scale. With no financial terms disclosed and no launch date set, investors will watch for follow-up announcements on volumes, pricing, and additional European distribution partners before the deal moves the needle on Canopy Growth's revenue.
