Preventive healthcare startup Cent has raised $15 million in a Series A round co-led by Blume Ventures and South Park Commons, and simultaneously acquired AI-powered radiology platform Medsee. Individual investors including Arun Sarin, Aprameya Radhakrishna and Krishan Sridhar also participated.
Cent was founded by Shashank ND, who previously built Practo and was elevated to its managing director and executive chairman role in September 2026. Cent screens for disease early using full-body MRI, low-dose CT, DEXA, ECG, ECHO scans and more than 100 biomarkers in a single two-hour session. Roughly 10,000 people have gone through the protocol in the past year; one in four had findings requiring medical attention, and one in 40 needed an immediate doctor consultation.
What does this change for India's healthcare market?
Cent is attacking late diagnosis of noncommunicable diseases in a country with roughly 101 million diabetics, 136 million prediabetics and an estimated 315 million people with hypertension. The new capital goes to medical hardware, AI capabilities and clinical research, with a target of 10 million scans by 2035 and a goal of saving one million lives. It runs screening centres in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi-NCR plus partner labs.
Other healthcare raises kept pace. Managed care startup Even Healthcare pulled in $50 million led by Khosla Ventures, tripling its valuation in 18 months and bringing total funding past $120 million. It operates two Bengaluru hospitals, plans four more by end-FY27, and says unplanned readmissions run below 1 percent versus an industry range of 8 to 15 percent.
Rural healthcare startup CureBay raised about Rs 100 crore in a Pre-Series C led by IvyCap Ventures — Rs 69 crore equity plus over Rs 30 crore debt. It runs 250-plus clinics across seven states, has served over 17 lakh patients, and is entering Andhra Pradesh.
Healthtech Confido Health secured $12.5 million led by Z47, reporting 15-fold growth since its prior round. Its AI agents serve about 3,200 providers across 27 states. BioStack raised $9.5 million in a seed round led by Peak XV and others, building on de-identified records covering more than 100 million patients across the US, India, Brazil and Argentina.
EVs and mobility pull the biggest cheques
Simple Energy secured Rs 1,750 crore (roughly $182 million) in a Series C led by the family office of Thyrocare founder Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani — among the largest raises by an Indian electric two-wheeler OEM. Revenue grew nearly fourfold to Rs 150–160 crore in FY26.
Ultraviolette raised $85 million led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures, taking disclosed funding to $151 million since August 2025. It launched the X-47 Venom motorcycle at Rs 2.65 lakh with a 343 km IDC range, and plans US entry in 2027. Zelio E-Mobility plans to raise up to Rs 167.96 crore via preferential shares and warrants, after FY26 revenue rose 76 percent to Rs 303.54 crore. GreenCell Mobility got Rs 330 crore from Impact Fund Denmark to help deploy about 4,500 electric buses, and battery-swapping firm Battery Smart raised nearly Rs 100 crore from Ecosystem Integrity Fund at a roughly Rs 4,170 crore post-money valuation.
Consumer brands dominate the mid-market
DailyObjects closed a Rs 332 crore Series C led by Xponentia, Anicut and Axiom Asia at about Rs 1,050 crore valuation, with early backer Roots Ventures exiting partially at an 18X return. Mokobara raised Rs 170 crore led by Sauce.VC after revenue nearly doubled to Rs 230.2 crore in FY25. Boldfit secured around Rs 400 crore from Bharat Value Fund, taking total funding past Rs 510 crore.
Troovy raised Rs 100 crore in a Series B led by Fireside Ventures; KISAH got Rs 35.9 crore from Fireside at a Rs 211 crore post-money valuation; Beyond Appliances raised Rs 110 crore; and Nat Habit is raising Rs 142.6 crore in a Series C led by Trident Growth Partners at about Rs 800 crore post-money, alongside a rebrand to Breathe Life. menswear, jewellery and food names — Unniyarcha (Rs 10 crore), Zinara (Rs 3.61 crore), ONYA (Rs 12.5 crore), Banaraswala ($2 million) and The Dough Therapy (Rs 5.25 crore) — all added fresh capital.
Results season shows the profit squeeze
Wellbeing Nutrition doubled operating revenue to Rs 244 crore in FY26 but its net loss widened 2.4 times to Rs 92 crore, including a Rs 51 crore ESOP charge; USV acquired 79 percent of it at a Rs 1,583 crore valuation in February. Innovist nearly tripled revenue to Rs 685.7 crore and posted Rs 21.5 crore net profit. Deconstruct grew 30 percent to Rs 165 crore but slipped to a Rs 5.4 crore loss as ad spend jumped 72.5 percent to Rs 69 crore. Skillmatics hit Rs 659 crore in revenue, up 34.5 percent, with net profit of Rs 17.57 crore.
Rounding out the week: Matiks raised $10 million led by General Catalyst after 2.2 million players in September; Gravity pulled in $15 million led by Info Edge and 3one4; Blitz raised Rs 28.70 crore at roughly Rs 440 crore post-money; Rio Health, Firi, Ionage, ReFit Global, Circle, ThinkMetal and a string of seed-stage names joined the queue.
The pattern for practitioners: capital is abundant, but so is scrutiny — ad-to-revenue ratios near 40 percent at several D2C brands suggest the next funding gate will hinge on repeat purchase economics, not gross merchandise value.
