Daytona, a cloud infrastructure platform for running AI agents securely, raised $60 million in Series B funding on October 20, 2026, in the largest deal of the day tracked by AlleyWatch's NYC funding report.
FirstMark Capital led the round. The investor list reads like a who's-who of tech operators: Stripe co-founder Patrick Collison, OpenAI board chair Adam D'Angelo, Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke, Datadog CEO Olivier Pomel, Zoom CEO Eric Yuan and Perplexity's Aravind Srinivas all participated. Institutional backers included Alumni Ventures, Evergreen Fund, Okta Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Samsung Next, Torch Capital, Pace Capital, Upfront Ventures and E2VC.
Daytona builds secure sandboxes for AI-generated code. That matters because agents writing and executing code need isolated environments that cannot touch production systems. Ivan Burazin, Goran Draganic and Vedran Jukic founded the company in 2023. The Series B brings Daytona's total reported equity funding to $91 million.
Where did the rest of New York's money go?
Prism Data followed with $20 million in Series A funding. The company automates credit risk underwriting for lenders using consumer bank transaction data. Story Ventures led the round, with FINTOP Capital, Core Innovation Capital, Obvious Ventures, 1st & Main Growth Partners and Mana Ventures joining. Jason Rosen founded Prism Data in 2016. The company has now raised $25 million in total equity funding.
Mural raised $15 million in a Series A led by Tether, with North Island Ventures participating. The company builds financial infrastructure that lets fintechs and businesses move, store and manage money across stablecoins and fiat currencies. A stablecoin issuer leading a round for stablecoin rails signals where Tether sees payments infrastructure heading. Sinclair Toffa and Chris Fernandes founded Mural in 2022. Its total reported funding now stands at $28 million.
What do the smaller rounds reveal?
Pennant AI raised $5 million in seed funding led by Urban Innovation Fund, with Y Combinator participating. The platform automates corporate governance research and proxy voting for institutional investors — a bet that asset managers will offload slow, manual shareholder-analysis work to software. Ryan Nowicki Stewart and Tomas Taylor founded the company in 2026, making it the youngest company in the report.
Juice Reel rounds out the day with $2.5 million, disclosed through a recent SEC filing rather than an announced round. The startup operates a sports betting tracking app and marketplace that verifies and ranks bettors' picks. The filing shows seventeen investors participated. Ricky Gold founded the company in 2019.
The five deals total roughly $102.5 million in fresh capital. AlleyWatch notes its daily report updates throughout the day, so additional fundings may still be added.
The pattern across October 20 is clear: infrastructure for AI and money movement drew the checks, with operator-angels from Stripe, Shopify, Zoom and OpenAI's board backing the tooling layer that AI adoption requires.
