What's News

  • Hashed has anchored a new digital asset private credit fund targeting $300 million, The Block reports.
  • The anchor commitment extends Hashed's activity beyond venture equity into credit strategies.
  • The fund's management, fee terms and credit strategies were not disclosed in the report.

Crypto venture capital firm Hashed has anchored a new digital asset private credit fund targeting $300 million, according to a report by The Block.

The anchor commitment marks one of the more sizable moves into private credit by a crypto-native investment firm. The vehicle will focus on credit strategies within the digital asset sector, a market that has drawn growing interest from institutional lenders as crypto markets mature.

Hashed, best known for its early-stage investments in blockchain and Web3 companies, is serving as the anchor investor for the fund. The Block, which first reported the story, did not name the fund's other prospective backers or disclose how much Hashed itself has committed.

The $300 million target positions the vehicle among the larger dedicated digital asset credit funds to surface in the current market cycle. Private credit has become an increasingly popular route for institutional capital seeking exposure to crypto-related yields without holding tokens directly, and established credit managers have been steadily expanding into the sector.

Details on the fund's management structure, fee terms and deployment timeline were not disclosed in the report. The Block also did not specify which credit strategies — such as lending to mining operations, market makers or other crypto firms — the vehicle will pursue.

Hashed's role as anchor investor signals that crypto-native venture firms are looking beyond traditional equity stakes in startups. Firms that built their franchises on token investments and equity rounds are now exploring credit as a complementary strategy, following a broader institutional shift toward digital asset credit products.

The move comes as competition intensifies among fund managers targeting institutional demand for crypto credit. If the fund reaches its $300 million target, it would add meaningful dry powder to a sector where lending capacity has been rebuilt cautiously since the collapses of 2022 wiped out several major crypto lenders.

For Hashed, the anchor position extends the firm's reach across the digital asset capital stack. The fund's eventual close — and the pace at which it deploys — will offer an early read on how much institutional appetite exists for structured credit exposure to the crypto economy.
