HighPost Capital has appointed Ron Sylvestri as Managing Director, Marketing after he helped raise more than $4 billion across alternative investments, institutional fundraising and strategic business development.
The company said Sylvestri will support HighPost’s marketing and capital-formation efforts, deepen relationships with institutional investors worldwide and report to David Moross, the firm’s chairman and chief executive officer.
Moross said: “Ron is a seasoned professional with deep institutional relationships across the allocator and investment management industry, and we are delighted to welcome him to HighPost.”
What does the appointment change for HighPost?
The practical change is broader institutional reach. HighPost said Sylvestri’s remit covers marketing and capital formation, with an explicit mandate to deepen institutional investor relationships worldwide. He also brings more than 25 years of experience across investor relations, institutional capital formation and business development in the alternative investment sector.
For allocators and investment partners, HighPost is adding an executive whose stated focus is bringing the firm’s strategy to a broader institutional audience. Sylvestri said: “I am excited to join David, Mark, and the rest of the HighPost team to bring the firm’s strategy to a broader set of institutional partners.”
A capital-raising record across advisory, research and sales
HighPost’s appointment announcement traced Sylvestri’s career through three firms, combining fundraising advice, institutional sales and equity research:
- Most recently before joining HighPost, Sylvestri served as President of Quail Ridge Asset Management, a boutique investment consulting and advisory firm he founded in 2009. He advised private equity firms, alternative asset managers and middle-market companies on institutional fundraising, strategic positioning, capital formation and business development.
- Before founding Quail Ridge, Sylvestri was a Principal at Emerald Point Capital Partners.
- Earlier, he was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley, where his work included institutional sales, equity research and structured equity and debt products.
Credentials and board service
The company also said Sylvestri serves on the Board of Directors of RiseBoro Community Partnership and the Advisory Board of Babson College. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance & Investments from Babson and holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 79 licenses.
HighPost’s focus spans operating expertise and founder-led companies
According to HighPost, the firm invests in companies across consumer products and services, sports, media, technology and aerospace. It focuses in part on family-controlled and entrepreneur-led businesses and seeks to combine investment capabilities with operating and marketing expertise.
HighPost was founded by Moross and Mark Bezos and is part of Azimut Group. The company described Azimut as a global asset management company serving individual and institutional investors.
Within that structure, the appointment is intended to support HighPost as the firm continues scaling institutional investor relationships and capital-formation capabilities. Sylvestri’s remit also fits HighPost’s stated strategy of pairing investment capabilities with operating and marketing expertise.
For the family-controlled and entrepreneur-led businesses HighPost targets, the practical benefit would be broader access to institutional capital. The announcement disclosed no fundraising target and identified no change in the firm’s stated sector focus.
The next proof point is whether Sylvestri can convert his allocator and investment-management relationships into a broader institutional partner base and greater capital-formation capacity. That is the outcome Moross and Sylvestri framed. For allocators and the founder-led businesses in HighPost’s target sectors, it is the relevant measure of the hire.
