Moosomin's Miranda Field Named WESK Emerging Entrepreneur Honoree

By Grace Kim

Miranda Field of Moosomin has been named an Emerging Entrepreneur honoree by WESK, The World-Spectator reports. That single line carries the whole story, so let's be precise about what we know — and what we don't.

Who is Miranda Field?

Field runs her business out of Moosomin, a town in southeastern Saskatchewan. The World-Spectator, the local outlet that first reported the honor, identifies her as this year's Emerging Entrepreneur honoree. The paper has not yet published the fuller citation text in the feed we received, so the specific venture behind the award — its sector, its revenue, its headcount — hasn't surfaced in what we can verify right now.

What we can say cleanly: the recognition attaches to her name, her town, and the WESK award category reserved for emerging entrepreneurs.

What is the WESK award?

WESK — Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan — runs a program of entrepreneur awards, and the Emerging Entrepreneur category is one of its honoree designations. The World-Spectator's report confirms Field holds that honor this cycle.

Takeaway in plain words: a Moosomin business owner just picked up a provincial-level entrepreneur honor under the WESK banner.

Why does a local award matter?

Provincial entrepreneur honors tend to be early markers. They put a name in front of lenders, economic development officers, and regional media — and for a town the size of Moosomin, that visibility compounds. The World-Spectator's coverage itself is part of that loop: local press first, wider business press second.

We'll be watching for the details that usually follow an award announcement — the business description, the award ceremony date, and any quotes from Field or from WESK leadership. The citation, when it lands, is where the numbers will live.

Business Bearings will update this story as the full award details are published.
