Eleven public issues launched between October 26 and October 31, collectively seeking ₹3,081 crore from India's primary markets, according to IndiaIPO's daily market update for November 1, 2026. The pipeline does not pause: Vedant Poly Fabs opens its SME IPO for subscription from November 2 to November 4, aiming to raise ₹56.68 crore at a price band of ₹88–₹94 per share. EAAA India Alternatives, SFC Environmental and BLS Polymers led the recent cohort. The takeaway: the primary market remains open for business even as regulators tighten screws elsewhere.
Where did the startup money go?
Indian startups raised over $132 million across multiple funding deals during the period, spanning early-stage and growth rounds. The single largest cheque went to Broccoli AI, a BITS Pilani alumni-founded company that pulled in $52 million led by Vinod Khosla's Khosla Ventures. The startup builds specialized AI workflow automation tools for home-service contractors and trade workers — a US-facing bet, not an Indian one.
Bengaluru-based Matiks, a social gaming and brain-games startup, secured $10 million in pre-Series A funding led by General Catalyst to accelerate its push into the US market. Science-led nutrition brand Ace Blend raised $9.91 million in Series A2 funding led by 3one4 Capital and Fireside Ventures, and set a concrete target: ₹250–₹300 crore in annual recurring revenue within 12–18 months. That is an ambitious mark for a Series A2 company, and the founders did not disclose current revenue to anchor it.
Smaller rounds stacked up quickly:
- CapGrid, a Delhi-NCR manufacturing platform, secured ₹50 crore in Pre-Series B funding at a ₹430 crore valuation to expand into drones and precision components.
- Esports platform Let's Game Now raised ₹30 crore co-led by Anand Mahindra and Bestvantage Investments to build the Indian Super Gaming League, an IPL-style franchise structure.
- Jagruti, a Pune mental health chain, raised ₹28 crore from Alkemi Growth Capital to grow past 40 centres and 4,000 beds.
- Docterz, a Mumbai healthtech startup, raised ₹5 crore from 35 investors, including 20 practicing doctors.
- Interactive trivia app dubdub raised $1.3 million led by 3one4 Capital, Antler and Stellaris, after crossing 20,000 downloads in seven months.
- CopperPilot, an AI electronics design agent, raised $390,000 led by Neon Fund.
- Fashion accessories brand Qiroko raised ₹1.5 crore led by ISV Capital.
- IIT Madras-incubated Viridian Ingni Propulsion raised ₹1.47 crore led by Inflection Point Ventures for EV and robotics motors.
Two deals remain talks, not closings: D2C beauty startup Numour is in advanced discussions to raise $3.1 million, expected to be led by Marico's family office, Sharrp Ventures, and smart appliance maker upliance.ai is negotiating $3 million to $4 million for international expansion and R&D. In addition, Wellbeing Nutrition's founders invested an undisclosed sum in Chennai skincare brand CHOSEN — a move that follows USV valuing Wellbeing Nutrition at ₹1,583 crore in recent strategic dealmaking.
What did the regulators do this week?
SEBI imposed a ₹1 crore penalty on depository CDSL for operational and regulatory lapses covering pledge rejection communications, cybersecurity controls, vulnerability patching and disaster recovery drills. It also barred EKI Energy Services for two months and its MD Manish Dabkara for 12 months over ₹197.04 crore of revenue misstatements and ₹26.34 crore of fund diversion, with total penalties of ₹88 lakh.
The regulator put its cybersecurity team on high alert after a code execution cyberattack hit its SMARTs portal on October 26. SEBI thwarted the breach and confirmed no personal investor data was compromised — though the market has no independent audit of that claim yet. SEBI is also preparing to review norms governing foreign institutional investors amid record portfolio outflows, aiming to streamline registration and reduce operational friction. SEBI's Chairman said the regulator is focused on making capital markets more accessible, efficient and resilient by simplifying compliance and strengthening investor protection.
How is the macro picture shaping up?
India's foreign exchange reserves fell $1.27 billion to $719.75 billion for the seventh consecutive week ended October 23, as a $2.65 billion drop in gold valuation offset a $1.36 billion gain in foreign currency assets. The central government's fiscal deficit widened to ₹7.14 lakh crore — 42.1% of the FY27 annual target in the first half — driven by higher subsidy spending and slowing net tax collections.
RBI data showed scheduled commercial bank advances against fixed deposits, including FCNR(B) deposits, surged 53.3% year-on-year to ₹2.17 trillion as of September 30, while overall bank credit expanded 19.4% to ₹229.95 trillion. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman cited World Bank data showing 496 million Indians rose above the $4.20-a-day poverty line between 2011-12 and 2023-24. Union Minister Piyush Goyal said India's trade pacts will open preferential access to markets with an aggregate GDP of $85 trillion.
On fuel policy, the government raised the windfall tax on diesel export duty by ₹3 per litre, increased aviation turbine fuel levies by 50 paise per litre, and scrapped petrol duties completely. India's crude oil imports hit a record high in October as refiners secured discounted spot cargoes ahead of winter demand, and Reliance Industries expanded fuel exports to new territories, capturing higher processing margins despite Middle East disruptions.
What else moved?
The Centre released an additional ₹1.09-trillion tax devolution instalment to states in October to accelerate capital expenditure during the festive quarter, and formed an inter-ministerial panel to drive adoption of the RELIEF scheme for exporters facing shipping bottlenecks. Odisha approved five semiconductor and advanced packaging projects worth over $4 billion, two under the India Semiconductor Mission. ISRO launched the NVS-03 satellite, strengthening the NavIC navigation system's regional accuracy and civilian signals.
Diplomatically, the 30-year Ganga Water Sharing Treaty with Bangladesh expires December 12, with renewal talks awaiting the Bangladesh Prime Minister's visit. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar warned that energy sanctions and maritime chokepoints are being weaponized to hold prices hostage, and urged deeper Quad cooperation on clean energy supply chains and maritime security. With record FPI outflows pressing on SEBI and a shrinking reserve buffer, the coming weeks will test whether the primary market's momentum survives the tightening macro backdrop.
