What's News
- Trader Joe’s confirmed 30 new stores, with 2 opening the week of October 22, 2025.
- Anaheim, CA store opens Thursday, October 22, at 9 a.m.; West Jordan, UT opens Friday, October 23, at 9 a.m.

Trader Joe’s will open two new stores this week and has confirmed 28 more locations “coming soon” across 15 states. The Anaheim Hills, California, store opens Thursday, October 22, at 9 a.m., and the West Jordan, Utah, store follows one day later, Friday, October 23, at 9 a.m.
That’s a 30-store pipeline from a chain that treats each opening as a local media event — and one with an unusually loyal customer base that resells even its $3 tote bags at a markup. For a grocer that runs roughly 500-sparse-square-foot footprints in select markets, adding 30 sites signals where the company sees durable demand.
Which stores open this week?
Trader Joe’s confirmed the two addresses on its blog:

- Utah: 5561 W 7800 S, West Jordan, UT 84081 — opening Friday, October 23, at 9 a.m.
The remaining 28 locations carry no firm dates. The company’s announcement pages list them simply as “coming soon.”

What does this change for shoppers and competitors?
What does a new Trader Joe’s actually change on the ground? For shoppers, it means access to the private-label assortment that drives the chain’s cult following — including those branded totes that resell well above their $3 sticker. For competing grocers, it means a discount rival with unusual customer pull entering, or deepening its presence in, their trade areas.
The state map tells its own story. Chicago gets two new stores on the North Side, in Lincoln Avenue and Montrose Avenue — an infill move in a market Trader Joe’s already serves. Phoenix gets a second location alongside an existing one. Meanwhile, markets like Omaha, Bend and Syracuse represent thinner coverage getting its first or an additional foothold.
When will the rest open?
Beyond the two confirmed openings, Trader Joe’s hasn’t released specific dates. Its listings show all 28 remaining stores as “coming soon.”
Some could open before the end of the year, based on the company’s own announcement pages. Others won’t arrive until 2027. That spread means this is a multi-year buildout, not a single quarter’s push — so landlords, suppliers and rival chains in the listed markets have time to react before the doors actually open.
