What's News

  • U&I Ventures closed a $32.237 million oversubscribed debut fund for AI-native enterprise infrastructure.
  • Fund I targets 40-45 pre-seed and seed investments with checks of ~$250,000 to $800,000+.
  • The firm has completed nine investments; portfolio company Pluto Security has raised $42 million.
  • U&I's network of ~1,800 executives includes nearly 650 CISOs, ~850 CTOs and 300+ CIOs.
  • U&I connected Pluto Security's founder with 68 enterprise CISOs in under 24 hours.

U&I Ventures has closed an oversubscribed debut fund with $32.237 million in commitments to back seed-stage companies building AI-native infrastructure across security, engineering, and information technology.

The San Francisco firm, founded in 2025 by Kim Moore, is built around a community of roughly 1,800 enterprise technology leaders. That network includes nearly 650 CISOs and security executives, around 850 CTOs, and more than 300 CIOs.

What makes the fund's model different?

U&I uses feedback from those executives to identify technology gaps, assess potential investments, validate products, and introduce portfolio companies to prospective customers. The firm says its network gives founders rapid access to enterprise buyers — not just capital.

Moore puts it plainly.

"I spent years asking founders what they needed beyond capital, and the answer was always access to the right people. That is the foundation for U&I," said Kim Moore, founder and general partner of U&I Ventures.

The proof point: during Pluto Security's seed financing process, U&I connected the company's founder with 68 enterprise CISOs in less than 24 hours.

The firm's model is designed to bring enterprise buyers and operators into the investment process early enough to help startups shape products around real operational demand.

How will the $32.2 million get deployed?

Fund I plans to invest in 40 to 45 pre-seed and seed-stage businesses. Initial checks will range from approximately $250,000 to more than $800,000.

The firm has already completed nine investments across AI security, agent reliability, enterprise infrastructure, and compliance.

The disclosed portfolio includes:

  • Pluto Security — has raised $42 million across two financing rounds
  • ZeroDrift — develops systems for monitoring and controlling AI-related compliance decisions
  • Seven stealth investments — spanning autonomous vulnerability remediation, digital forensics, identity management, security operations, production testing of autonomous AI agents, and AI data infrastructure

Who is behind the firm?

Moore previously spent more than a decade at Glynn Capital and Innovation Endeavors, investing in enterprise infrastructure businesses including Chronosphere and Drata.

The fund's thesis sits at the intersection of two trends: enterprises deploying autonomous AI systems faster than their security stacks can adapt. Alex Stamos, chief security officer at Cognition, framed the gap the fund is betting on.

"As companies deploy more autonomous AI systems, they're facing security challenges that existing tools weren't designed to handle," Stamos said.

What comes next?

With $32.237 million committed and only nine deals done, U&I has room for roughly three dozen more investments from Fund I. The bet: startups that plug into 1,800 enterprise decision-makers on day one will build products enterprises actually buy — and the oversubscribed close suggests limited partners agree.
