Vera Health raised a $28.5 million Series A led by Threshold Ventures, bringing total funding for its clinical evidence platform to $32 million. Mantis VC and SV Angel participated in the round, while existing investors Y Combinator and Gradient increased their backing.

What does the new financing change?

Based on the company’s disclosed figures, Vera Health had raised $3.5 million before the Series A. The new financing supplies nearly nine-tenths of its total funding and leaves Vera Health with $28.5 million in fresh capital.

The new capital is more than eight times Vera Health’s earlier funding. The Series A is therefore its largest disclosed financing.

Vera Health now has the capital to scale, and the new round dwarfs its earlier fundraising.

How large is Vera Health’s user base?

Vera Health said more than 800,000 clinicians now use the platform, compared with only a few thousand approximately one year earlier. The company operates with a team of 12 employees and has reached users across 190 countries.

Vera Health said approximately one in four physicians in Spain and Italy use the platform, while one in seven physicians in France use it.

The company also said the platform was the “most downloaded clinical application globally” across the Apple App Store and Google Play every month from June through September 2026. Vera Health said it held that position for all four months.

In plain terms, Vera reports broad adoption with a 12-person team.

How does Vera Health handle medical evidence?

Vera Health designed the platform to help clinicians find and evaluate medical evidence, rather than simply generate conversational responses.

Before producing an answer, the system searches more than 60 million peer-reviewed publications, clinical guidelines, consensus statements and drug labels. The corpus combines academic research with formal clinical guidance and drug information.

The company links claims to supporting sources and categorizes each claim according to the strength of available evidence. It also designed the system to “surface uncertainty” when evidence is limited.

Vera Health cited two limited evidence cases: a case series and an individual patient report. In those situations, the system is designed to make the limits of the available research visible.

Vera’s product pitch is traceable, graded evidence rather than conversation alone.

What does the American College of Emergency Physicians add?

Through a partnership with the American College of Emergency Physicians, Vera integrates ACEP clinical policies with source attribution. The integration places clinical policies inside the platform and keeps attribution attached to the supporting material.

Source attribution is central to Vera’s product design. The ACEP agreement applies that model to policies supplied by an external medical society.

The ACEP deal adds society policies to Vera while preserving their source links.

What will the $28.5 million fund?

Vera Health will use the financing to develop its clinical evidence infrastructure, expand into additional healthcare markets and deepen relationships with medical societies, publishers and health systems. Those priorities span the platform’s evidence backbone, market reach and outside relationships.

The company plans to keep Vera Health free for licensed clinicians and medical trainees worldwide. Wider use, therefore, does not require Vera Health to charge its core clinical audience under the current plan.

Vera Health’s next test is whether it can turn more than 800,000 clinicians and 190-country reach into deeper ties with medical societies, publishers and health systems while keeping access free for licensed clinicians and medical trainees.
