What's News

  • Vintage Investment Partners raised $920m across venture fund-of-funds and secondaries strategies, taking AUM above $4.8bn.
  • Pantheon closed its eighth secondaries fund at $6bn, 71% above its $3bn target.
  • Preqin forecasts global private equity AUM will almost double to $12tn by the end of 2031, with private credit surpassing $5tn.
  • Bison Ventures raised $160m for its second VC fund, about 19% more than its debut vehicle.

Vintage Investment Partners has raised $920m across its venture fund-of-funds and secondaries strategies, taking the Tel Aviv-based firm's assets under management above $4.8bn.

The figure lands amid a busy stretch for private markets fundraising. Vintage's dual-strategy haul spans two of the industry's most closely watched segments: fund-of-funds vehicles that spread capital across venture managers, and secondaries funds that buy existing LP stakes.

What else is moving in private markets fundraising?

The Vintage close is one of several recent capital raises reported across the alternatives industry:

  • Bison Ventures raised $160m for its second venture capital fund, roughly 19% more than its debut vehicle. The US manager is increasing exposure to early-stage companies developing frontier technologies.
  • Ascertis Credit secured more than $700m in commitments for its fourth private credit fund, surpassing the $600m raised for its predecessor. The Singapore-based manager continues fundraising toward a $1bn target.
  • Partners Group raised $875m through two rated feeder vehicles for its evergreen private credit strategy this year. A second closing secured $510m from US insurance companies.
  • GEM completed fundraising for GEM Independent Sponsors Fund II, LP at its hard cap, securing $685m in total commitments.
  • Pantheon closed its eighth secondaries fund with a $6bn capital pool, beating its initial $3bn target by 71%.

How large can private markets get?

Global private equity assets under management are forecast to almost double to $12tn by the end of 2031, according to new research from Preqin. The same research projects private credit will surpass $5tn and become one of the fastest-growing major alternative investment classes.

Those projections frame the fundraising wave now visible across venture, secondaries and credit strategies.

Who is changing seats?

Miras Investments has named Matthew Lesesky as its new global head of private equity, adding a seasoned endowment investor to its investment team.

On the deal side, Trive Capital has closed on the sale of EarthLink to a family office consortium consisting of WaveDivision Capital and The Pritzker organization.

Vintage's $920m raise, set against Preqin's forecast of a near-doubling private equity market by 2031, positions the firm to keep deploying across venture and secondaries as LPs push deeper into both strategies.
