Cyberport startups raised HK$74.5 billion last year, and Hong Kong's digital hub now plans to spend two days showing investors where the next round of that money will go. The Cyberport Venture & Capital Forum runs November 4–5 at Cyberport, with artificial intelligence, digital assets and one-person companies (OPCs) at the top of the agenda.
The theme is "Scaling in a Changing World: Winning the Next Competitive Cycle." Global investors and entrepreneurs will gather to examine enterprise and agentic AI, OPCs, and frontier technology. The forum's stated goal is practical: help startups and investors break through financing barriers and seize new market opportunities.
Why does Hong Kong matter in this picture?
The city is selling itself as a gateway. Cyberport positions Hong Kong as a strategic hub connecting the Chinese mainland, ASEAN, the Middle East, and global innovation and funding networks. For startups hunting capital beyond traditional markets, that pitch carries weight. Last year's numbers back it: 481 companies joined the Cyberport community, 19 Cyberport companies listed successfully, and two new unicorns joined the roster.
Cyberport chief executive Rocky Cheng framed the moment in economic terms. "As global innovation and capital markets undergo accelerated reshaping, AI, data technology, and emerging industries have become crucial engines driving economic growth," Cheng said.
Where is the deal flow coming from?
Recent high-value fundraising rounds at Cyberport include Finloop, Qupital, Premialab and Buy&Ship, many of which leverage AI, blockchain and digital assets. Behind that deal flow sits the Cyberport Investors Network (CIN), which marks its 9th anniversary this year.
Hendrick Sin, chairman of the CIN Steering Group, co-founder of CMGE Technology and chairman of China Prosperity Capital, quantified the network's record: "Cyberport Investors Network (CIN) has come to its 9th anniversary this year, and our network of over 240 global investors has successfully facilitated more than HK$6 billion across over 133 project matchings, representing an increase of over 19 projects compared to last year."
That is the mechanism worth watching: 240-plus investors, matched against startups by technological focus and investment preference, producing more than 133 deals worth over HK$6 billion.
What happens on stage and on the floor?
The forum's "Investor Matching" session returns this year. It pairs investors and startups face-to-face and online, sorted by technology focus and investment appetite. Additional highlights include:
- Over 80 physical showcase booths
- Funder power pitches
- A start-up clinic and workshop offering practical insights and strategic advice
Cyberport and international partners, including Gobi Partners and Thailand's National Innovation Agency, will sign a memorandum of understanding on the day.
What is the Agentic Economy Summit?
The most forward-leaning item on the agenda is the Agentic Economy Summit. It brings together AI pioneers, regulators and financial giants to examine the infrastructure of machine-driven commerce: digital identity, institutional tokenization, HKD stablecoin issuance, programmable payments and machine-to-machine commerce. The stated aim is to examine how these pieces build the financial rails of the future.
The combination matters. Hong Kong is not only hosting a networking event; it is mapping how tokens, stablecoins and autonomous AI agents could move money between machines without human touchpoints, with regulators in the room while the design work happens.
For investors and founders weighing November plans, the forum offers a compressed view of where Hong Kong's public and private capital intends to place its bets over the next competitive cycle: agentic AI, tokenized assets and the small, fast companies built to exploit both.
