Accelerated Wealth Partners (AWP), a specialized investment firm backed by a $200 million capital commitment from J.C. Flowers & Co., has signed definitive agreements to invest in Pallas Capital Advisors, an independent registered investment adviser with roughly $5 billion in client assets.
The transaction is expected to close later in 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. AWP did not disclose deal terms.
Who is Pallas Capital Advisors?
Founded in 2019, Pallas provides comprehensive wealth management to corporate executives, entrepreneurs, business owners, and ultra-high-net-worth families. Rich Mullen, Greg Boyle, and Charlie Evangelakos built the firm after advising affluent families at major financial institutions.
The company is headquartered in Braintree, Massachusetts, with additional offices in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Jersey. Its advisory capabilities span tax planning, trust and estate planning, financial planning, concentrated stock management, business transitions, and multigenerational wealth transfer.
That service mix targets clients with unusually complicated balance sheets — a segment both sides see as underserved and lucrative.
What does the partnership change?
Under the proposed structure, Pallas' founders and existing partners will keep running the business and maintain its brand, culture, and client relationships. AWP will supply growth capital plus resources to support organic expansion and mergers and acquisitions.
The deal also broadens employee ownership. Five senior professionals — Joe Cullen, James Landry, Eric Lalime, Andrew Krout, and Athol Cochrane — will become equity partners. AWP framed the ownership expansion as a way to strengthen leadership continuity, succession planning, and alignment with the firm's long-term growth objectives.
AWP, for its part, focuses on providing capital and strategic resources to independent registered investment advisory businesses, operating on the $200 million commitment from J.C. Flowers & Co.
What are the principals saying?
Eric Amar, founder of Accelerated Wealth Partners, said: "I have followed Pallas' growth closely for years, and it is a privilege to finally be working alongside them. Rich, Greg, and Charlie have built something rare: a firm that pairs the planning depth of a top-tier private bank with the agility and personal attention of an independent advisor. Their clients are executives and entrepreneurs with some of the most complex financial lives in the country, and Pallas delivers for them every day. We see a clear path for Pallas to become one of the nation's premier ultra-high-net-worth firms, and our role is to provide the capital and growth expertise to help them get there."
Rich Mullen, founding partner and CEO of Pallas Capital Advisors, said: "We have known and trusted the AWP team for years, and when we decided to bring in a partner, there was never any question about who it would be. Our ambition is to be the national leader in ultra-high-net-worth wealth management, and our planning capability is what sets us apart. This partnership gives us the resources to pursue that ambition with real conviction while staying true to who we are. Just as importantly, it allows us to welcome more of our colleagues into ownership and reward the people who have helped make Pallas what it is today."
Who advised on the deal?
- Colchester Partners — financial advisor to Pallas
- Alston & Bird — legal counsel to Pallas
- Seward & Kissel — legal counsel to Accelerated Wealth Partners
The deal adds another data point to private equity's steady push into independent wealth management, where $5 billion advisory platforms have become prime targets for capital and M&A roll-ups. If the Pallas playbook works, expect AWP to keep shopping in the RIA space after the 2026 close.
