Polaris Growth Fund has made a strategic investment in ID Plans, giving the 25-year-old property intelligence company fresh capital to accelerate product development and expand its technology platform for commercial real estate owners and operators.
The deal terms weren't disclosed. What's clear: ID Plans keeps its name and its existing leadership team, including Founder and CEO Jeff Landry, who has run the company since its founding in 1999.
Software Equity Group advised ID Plans on the transaction.
What does the money buy?
The partnership provides ID Plans with additional capital, operating resources, and strategic support as it pushes deeper into the commercial real estate market. Polaris Growth Fund, a specialized affiliate of Polaris Partners, focuses on founder-led software and technology-enabled services companies — a profile ID Plans fits squarely.
Polaris plans to support continued investment in the platform as well as additional market expansion, according to the companies.
"We see meaningful opportunities to invest in the platform, expand the company's reach, and support ID Plans as it enters its next phase of growth," said Dan Lombard, Managing Partner of Polaris Growth Fund.
Landry framed the investor as an accelerant rather than a change in direction. "Their experience, resources, and growth mindset will help us move faster, invest in our capabilities, and create even greater value for our customers," he said.
What is ID Plans, exactly?
Founded in 1999, ID Plans has built what it calls a property intelligence ecosystem — one designed to support a commercial space across its full lifecycle, from vacancy through occupancy and renewal.
Its client base spans five property types:
- Retail
- Office
- Industrial
- Manufacturing
- Government
The company combines a nationwide field organization with 3D cameras and aerial drones to build property and space profiles. Its ID Cloud platform then acts as a centralized property management operating system, connecting:
- Tenant management
- Exterior asset management
- Virtual property tours
- Maintenance intelligence
- Other applications
ID Plans positions this as a common property intelligence layer — a system that centralizes information gathered from physical spaces and makes it usable across operational teams.
Why now?
The commercial real estate industry has shifted toward detailed digital property information to run leasing, maintenance, capital planning, and tenant workflows across large portfolios. ID Plans is betting its technology can become the connective tissue for that data across an owner's entire asset base.
The company said the transaction is intended to speed up product innovation while preserving the customer-focused operating model it has built over more than two decades.
The structure matters here. ID Plans retains its brand, management structure, and focus on commercial property intelligence — signals that Polaris is backing an existing playbook with more fuel rather than staging a turnaround.
For Polaris Growth Fund, the deal extends its pattern of backing founder-led companies. For ID Plans, the question ahead is execution: converting new capital into faster product cycles and a wider market footprint before competitors in the property intelligence space consolidate the same ground.
The investment gives ID Plans the capacity to expand its solution ecosystem. Whether that expansion turns into durable market share across commercial real estate portfolios will define the company's next chapter.
