What's News

  • CCI approved Prosus' proposal to acquire a stake in Sachin Bansal-led Navi Ltd
  • Two Point O Capital raised $10M led by Transition Venture Capital for clean energy expansion
  • Razorpay received its final IFSCA Payment Service Provider licence for GIFT City operations
  • Indian residents invested $2.65 billion overseas in FY26, up 56% year on year
  • ValueQuest Tristar Fund raised over Rs 2,100 crore in 15 months for advanced manufacturing

India's competition watchdog has approved Dutch investment group Prosus' proposal to acquire a stake in Sachin Bansal-led fintech Navi Ltd, clearing the path for one of Europe's biggest tech investors to push deeper into Indian digital financial services. "The proposed combination involves the acquisition of certain shareholding in Navi Ltd (target) by MIH Payments Holdings BV (acquirer)," the Competition Commission of India said in its release. The CCI's nod is the regulatory green light the deal needed.

That wasn't Monday's only money move. Two Point O Capital (TW.O), an AI-powered, full-stack clean energy deployment platform for commercial and industrial businesses, raised $10 million in a round led by Transition Venture Capital. Existing investor Omnivore and angels Chiranjeev Singh Saluja and Sudhir M Reddy also wrote cheques.

TW.O plans to spend the capital expanding into new asset classes, including battery energy storage systems, while deepening its footprint in existing segments: solar, energy efficiency and wastewater treatment.

Where is the private equity money going?

Into factories. ValueQuest Tristar Fund, a private equity vehicle backing India's advanced manufacturing sector, has pulled in more than Rs 2,100 crore — roughly $250 million — in commitments. It hit that figure within 15 months of its first close, beating both its original target and its full greenshoe. The fund writes cheques into aerospace, defence, precision engineering and manufacturing tied to the energy transition.

What does Razorpay's new licence change for cross-border payments?

Plenty. Razorpay has received its final Payment Service Provider licence from the IFSCA, converting the in-principle approval it got in April 2026. The licence lets Razorpay move money in and out of India from GIFT City under a single regulatory framework — covering global investing, international collections, settlements and multi-currency accounts, with banking integrations already live at RBL Bank and ICICI Bank.

The practical win: investment platforms can integrate once and cut launch timelines from months to two or three weeks. Demand is real. Indian residents put $2.65 billion into overseas stocks and debt in FY26, up 56 per cent year on year.

Voice AI gets faster and more multilingual

Bengaluru-based Arrowhead AI launched Fletch, an in-house text-to-speech model built for multilingual customer calls. It handles 14 languages, switches between them mid-sentence and offers 12 emotion styles. Latency sits at 80 milliseconds, and the model starts speaking in under 100 milliseconds.

Fletch already powers more than one million calls a day for clients including Axis Bank and RBL Bank. Arrowhead claims roughly 30% better pronunciation accuracy on selected names and terms — a figure the company stresses is not an overall call-resolution gain. Malay and Indonesian support lands ahead of Singapore FinTech Festival 2026.

EVs, UPI and a leadership change

BikeWo Green Tech signed a strategic MoU with Eden Green Energy to explore electric mobility and sustainable transportation, spanning EV fleet solutions, vehicle leasing, charging infrastructure and workforce management. Eden's Managing Director said the partnership aligns with plans to expand dedicated electric fleets and charging networks in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai and Tiruchirappalli.

Digital lender Fibe launched UPI payments on its app after NPCI approved it as a Third-Party Application Provider. The service is open across India — including to non-Fibe customers — and supports bank accounts, RuPay Credit Cards and eligible credit lines in a single UPI experience. Group CEO Akshay Mehrotra said the aim is to give users greater choice, control and value in every transaction. Fibe's stack already includes the Fibe Axis Bank Credit Card, third-party FDs and Loan Against Mutual Funds.

DHL Express, meanwhile, appointed Sandeep Juneja as Senior Vice President for South Asia and Managing Director for India, effective 1 November 2026. He succeeds R. S. Subramanian, who moves to Blue Dart as Managing Director. Juneja, with DHL since 2004 and on the India Management Board since 2007, will also oversee Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Asia Pacific CEO Ken Lee said Juneja brings the market knowledge and customer relationships needed for the next phase of growth.

For operators, the through-line is capital and clearances: clean energy, advanced manufacturing and cross-border payments infrastructure are where India's money and regulators are both pointing this quarter.
