Bengaluru-based electric vehicle maker Ultraviolette has secured $85 million in a fresh funding round led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures, with participation from Lip-Bu Tan, Chairman of Walden International, alongside existing investors. The round pushes the company's disclosed fundraising to $151 million since August 2025.

The capital will fund production scaling for Ultraviolette's flagship F77 and X-47 electric motorcycles, and accelerate the rollout of upcoming products, including the Tesseract scooter and the Shockwave enduro motorcycle. The company will also invest in next-generation EV platforms covering battery technology, power electronics, vehicle architecture and intelligent software systems.

Where is the money going?

Ultraviolette is preparing to enter the United States market in 2027 while expanding across Latin America and Southeast Asia. The company currently sells its electric motorcycles in India and 20 European countries.

The round lands shortly after Ultraviolette announced a new manufacturing facility capable of producing up to 500,000 units annually, strengthening production capacity to support future demand.

How does the round fit into Ultraviolette's funding history?

Before this raise, the company had collected $66 million as part of its ongoing Series E round, including $21 million from TDK Ventures and $45 million from Zoho Corporation and Lingotto. With the new capital included, Ultraviolette has raised $151 million through disclosed fundraises since August 2025.

Founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, Ultraviolette develops electric vehicle platforms and advanced battery technologies. Its investor base includes Lingotto, TDK Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, TVS Motor Company and Speciale Invest. The company has built battery architectures ranging from 48V to 400V, and says its in-house technology stack supports multiple vehicle categories and mobility applications.

A strategic advisor joins the cap table

Lip-Bu Tan is not just writing a cheque. He will join Ultraviolette as an advisor, bringing strategic guidance as the company scales its technology capabilities and global operations.

With $85 million in fresh capital, a 500,000-unit plant in the works and a US market entry targeted for 2027, Ultraviolette is positioning itself to convert a decade of Indian EV engineering into a global manufacturing and export business.
