Healthtech startup Cent has raised $15 million in a Series A round combining debt and equity, led by Blume Ventures and existing investor South Park Commons.
Cent will spend the money on R&D and on expanding its AI, engineering and clinical teams, the company said.
The round drew individual investors with names attached. Arun Sarin, former CEO of Vodafone, put in capital. So did Srinivas Narayanan, former CTO (B2B) of OpenAI, along with Sharath Narayana, Krishna Sridhar and Aprimeya Radhakrishna — reported as Aprameya Radhakrishna, the serial entrepreneur.
Who is behind Cent?
Shashank ND, Arpit Garg and Anshul Khandelwal founded Cent in 2025. Each founder carries an operator record. Shashank ND founded Practo, the doctor-booking platform. Anshul Khandelwal was chief marketing officer at Ola Electric. Arpit Garg led product at Lenskart.
The startup positions itself as a preventive health intelligence company. It is building a vertically integrated platform that combines purpose-built hardware, AI-driven radiology and diagnostics, and bioinformatics. Cent claims the platform can detect diseases well before symptoms appear.
That claim rests on a simple comparison: today's clinics treat illness after it shows up, while Cent wants to find it first.
What does the Medsee acquisition add?
Alongside the funding, Cent has acquired Medsee, an AI-powered radiology reporting workflow platform. Chitra Singh founded Medsee and built it for qualified medical professionals.
The platform drafts structured reports and highlights findings for radiologist review. For Cent, the mechanism is scale. As scan volumes grow, Medsee's drafting lets Cent deliver faster and more consistent reporting without proportionally more radiologists.
Anshul Khandelwal, Co-Founder of Cent, framed the company's thesis in a statement:
"India's healthcare system is still built to treat illness, not to find it early. We believe the next shift is preventive care that is precise and accessible at scale. This investment lets us go deeper into AI, medical imaging and clinical research, and build preventive health infrastructure in India that can serve the world."
What traction does Cent have?
Cent says it has completed 10,000 preventive whole-body scans across Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi since inception. That is the startup's operating base as of this raise.
The target is larger. Cent aims to complete 10 million scans by 2035 — a thousandfold increase on its current count over roughly a decade.
Karthik Reddy, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Blume Ventures, said the firm backs a global extension of the model:
"We are believers in the Cent's vision to extend this from India to the world over time, and it is in line with our conviction around health tech for a decade now."
What happens next?
The $15 million funds three tracks: deeper AI work, medical imaging and clinical research. The Medsee acquisition folds radiology reporting into the stack. Whether Cent can move from 10,000 scans in three cities to 10 million by 2035 will decide whether preventive health intelligence becomes an industry in India or a category that stayed small.
