What's News
- Furlenco is preparing an IPO of Rs 1,000-1,200 crore, per BW Disrupt
- The company targets a valuation of approximately Rs 7,000 crore
- Furlenco operates a furniture subscription rental model for urban consumers
Furniture rental startup Furlenco is preparing an initial public offering worth Rs 1,000-1,200 crore, according to a report by BW Disrupt. The Bengaluru-based company is targeting a valuation of approximately Rs 7,000 crore for the listing.
The planned IPO marks the most significant milestone yet for a company that has built its business on a subscription model for furniture. Rather than selling furniture outright, Furlenco rents beds, sofas, wardrobes and appliances to urban consumers on monthly plans.
At Rs 7,000 crore, the targeted valuation sets a clear benchmark for India's furniture subscription category. The company would join a growing cohort of Indian consumer startups that have tested public-market appetite since 2021.
The Rs 1,000-1,200 crore issue size suggests Furlenco is sizing its offering in the mid-range of recent Indian tech listings. Details on the composition of the offering — including the split between fresh shares and any secondary component — remain to be finalised.
For now, the headline terms are clear: a company seeking roughly Rs 1,100 crore in capital at a valuation near Rs 7,000 crore. If the listing proceeds on those terms, it will provide the first public market read on the economics of India's furniture-as-a-service model, a segment that has so far been financed almost entirely by private investors.
