U.S. Chamber Endorses Rep. María Salazar for Florida's 27th District

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Rep. María Salazar for re-election in Florida's twenty-seventh congressional district, the organization announced from Washington, D.C.

The Chamber backs federal candidates it says will support policies that drive innovation, grow the economy, and create opportunities for American businesses and workers.

Rodney Davis, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber, framed the endorsement around Salazar's work on labor issues affecting Florida employers.

"Congresswoman Salazar is leading the charge to ensure Florida's small businesses have the workforce they need to compete and grow," Davis said. "Her tireless efforts are critical to America's prosperity, which is why the U.S. Chamber is proud to endorse her."

Salazar, a Republican whose Miami-area district covers South Florida, responded by claiming credit for a legislative record focused on tax cuts and regulatory relief.

"I am honored to earn the support of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the leading voice for America's job creators. South Florida's economy is powered by small businesses, entrepreneurs, and working families," Salazar said. "In Congress, I have fought to cut taxes, reduce red tape, expand access to capital, create good-paying jobs, and recover billions in fraudulent COVID funds. I will always defend free enterprise, protect taxpayers, and keep the American Dream alive in South Florida."

What the Endorsement Signals

The U.S. Chamber describes itself as the world's largest business organization, representing companies of all sizes across every sector of the economy. Its membership spans small businesses and local chambers of commerce as well as leading industry associations and large corporations. The organization has advocated for pro-business policies for more than 114 years.

For Salazar, the endorsement delivers institutional backing from one of the most established lobbying forces in Washington at a moment when small-business voters in South Florida represent a significant electoral bloc. Her district's economy runs heavily on small enterprises, a point she emphasized directly in her statement.

The Chamber's decision also highlights workforce policy as a competitive economic issue in the district. Davis tied the endorsement specifically to Salazar's efforts on ensuring small businesses can find the workers they need to compete and grow.

Salazar, for her part, listed her priorities as cutting taxes, reducing red tape, expanding access to capital, creating good-paying jobs, and recovering what she described as billions in fraudulent COVID-era funds.

The endorsement sets the terms of the business community's engagement in the twenty-seventh district race heading toward November, with the Chamber signaling that it intends to make small-business workforce policy a central issue of the campaign.
