What's News
- ZenaTech announced on September 8, 2026 a franchise strategy for drone-based power washing built on its June 23, 2026 acquisition of Florida-based Green Earth Powerwashing LLC.
- The service concept uses ZenaDrone's IQ Square drone fitted with a pressurized cleaning attachment; it is at the testing stage and not yet commercially deployed.
- The global drone cleaning services market was valued at over USD $5 billion in 2024 and is projected to top $15 billion by 2031 at nearly 17% annual growth, per Valuates Reports.
ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) is developing a franchise business model to sell drone-based power washing services, leveraging the franchise infrastructure it acquired on June 23, 2026 through its purchase of Florida-based Green Earth Powerwashing LLC.
The company announced the plan on September 8, 2026, describing it as a way to bring branded, drone-enabled cleaning of building exteriors and public spaces to market under its Drone as a Service (DaaS) platform. Green Earth came with a registered franchise system and active franchisees serving municipal, commercial, and hospitality customers across central and south Florida.
"We've long been interested in a franchise strategy for our Drone as a Service platform that can incorporate multiple service lines over time, and this recent acquisition of Green Earth gives us an accelerated path to bring our first drone-enabled service, power washing, to market incorporating this model," said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., CEO of ZenaTech.
Passley said the acquisition delivered three assets at once: a franchise infrastructure, trained operators, and existing customer relationships. "Our task now is to build the strategy and operations manual that will let us layer drone technology onto that foundation and apply the first services across Florida, then we plan to enter into other geographic markets nationally," he said.
The initiative remains at the planning stage. ZenaTech intends to layer AI-powered drone technology and workflows onto conventional power washing operations, with the stated goal of improving safety, speed, and service consistency for franchisees and their customers.
The hardware centerpiece is ZenaDrone's IQ Square, a drone currently in development for outdoor inspection and maintenance. ZenaTech plans to fit it with a pressurized cleaning attachment and water system to wash building exteriors, facades, roofs, and other hard-to-reach surfaces from the air. A ground-based technician would operate and supervise the aircraft. ZenaTech believes the approach could improve worker safety and service speed compared with ladder- and scaffold-based methods, particularly on high-rise properties. The capability is at the testing stage and not yet in commercial deployment.
The market opportunity is sizable, if the projections hold. The global drone cleaning services market, which includes drone-based power washing, was valued at over USD $5 billion in 2024 and is projected to exceed $15 billion by 2031, growing at an annual rate of almost 17%, according to Valuates Reports. ZenaTech believes Florida's dense concentration of high-rise, commercial, and municipal properties offers strong initial demand ahead of a planned national expansion.
The franchise plan fits ZenaTech's broader acquisition-led DaaS roll-up strategy. The company buys established, profitable service businesses that rely on low-tech or under-digitized processes, then integrates drone technology into their operations to build a global, multi-service network anchored by existing customers and recurring revenue. The DaaS platform is designed to give business and government customers subscription-based access to drone services spanning surveying, inspection, maintenance, power washing, inventory management, and precision agriculture, without the costs or operational burdens of drone ownership.
ZenaTech's recent moves suggest the washing initiative is part of a wider push across its drone portfolio. On September 3, 2026, the company announced its ZenaDrone subsidiary had completed a Version 1 prototype of the IQ Octo, an autonomous octocopter for precision spraying and seeding, with field testing expected to begin at its Arizona facility. Passley cited analyst projections of over 30% annual growth in precision agriculture drones over the next five years.
ZenaDrone operates three manufacturing facilities in Arizona, Dubai, and Taiwan. Its product pipeline includes the ZenaDrone 1000 for ISR defense and cargo, the IQ Nano for indoor inventory management, the IQ Quad for land surveying, the IQ Aqua for underwater applications, and the IQ Square targeted at the outdoor inspections and maintenance use case underpinning the washing franchise.
Details of the franchise offering remain undisclosed. ZenaTech says it will release more information as the strategy and supporting operations manual are completed. The company's immediate test is execution: converting a Florida cleaning franchise network into the first drone-enabled service line in a DaaS platform it intends to scale nationally.
